Who holds our money when we use FundFX?
The provider your fund chooses, never FundFX. Money moves only between your fund's own bank accounts and accounts in your fund's name at the provider.
Your fund signs the provider's terms directly, opens its own account and gives its own payment instructions. We are not a party to the account and we have no access to it. We cannot move, hold or redirect your money, and we never ask you to send money to us for any reason.
FundFX will never ask you to change payment details, send money to us, or share passwords or one-time codes. If anyone claiming to be FundFX does, treat it as fraud, do not act on it and call us on 020 7566 0044.
How is our money protected at the provider?
It depends on what the provider is authorised as. Payment and e-money institutions must safeguard client money by keeping it separate from their own, while a bank holds it as a deposit.
Safeguarded money is kept in a segregated account at a bank or covered by an insurance policy or guarantee, so it can be returned if the provider fails. Since 7 May 2026 the FCA's CASS 15 rules have required payment and e-money firms to reconcile safeguarded funds every business day, send a monthly safeguarding return and keep a resolution pack, and certain firms must have an annual safeguarding audit. Safeguarding is not compensation: the FSCS does not cover e-money or payment services.
FSCS deposit protection at banks is £120,000 per eligible depositor since 1 December 2025, but most fund entities and fund managers are not eligible, because the PRA rules exclude deposits from collective investment undertakings, investment firms and financial institutions. We explain the differences, and what to check, in our guide to choosing an FX provider.
Who does what between FundFX, the provider and our fund?
FundFX compares and organises. The provider holds the money, checks your fund, executes and safeguards. Your fund decides and approves.
| Responsibility | Who | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Holds the money | The provider | In accounts in your fund's name. Never FundFX. |
| Safeguards the money | The provider | Under its own FCA authorisation and the rules for its type of firm. |
| KYC and anti-money laundering checks | The provider | Directly with your fund. FundFX does not collect or store KYC documents. |
| Executes trades and payments | The provider | Only on your fund's instructions. |
| Approves payments | Your fund | Using the approval rules you set on the provider's platform. |
| Knows your fund's identity during a blind quote | FundFX only | Providers see the requirement, not the fund. |
| Learns your fund's identity | The provider you choose | Only when you ask us to introduce you, so it can start onboarding. |
| Stores trade data from a cost review | FundFX | Encrypted, used only for your review, deleted within 90 days. |
| Sends or changes payment details | Nobody at FundFX, ever | Changes reach investors and counterparties from your fund through verified channels. |
What do providers see when FundFX sends a blind quote?
The requirement, not the fund. Providers see the pair, the amount, the product, the dates, your settlement needs and your fund type and domicile. They do not see your fund's name, manager, investors, current provider or contact details.
| Stage | FundFX sees | Providers see |
|---|---|---|
| Request | Everything you send, including your contact details | Nothing yet |
| Quote | Your request and every quote returned | Pair, amount, product, value date, settlement needs, fund type and domicile |
| Comparison | The quotes side by side, shared with you | Only their own quote |
| Introduction | Which provider you chose | The chosen provider learns your fund's name and contact, with your agreement |
| Onboarding | Progress updates only | The chosen provider runs its own checks directly with your fund |
Quotes are indicative until your fund has been onboarded and passed the provider's checks. Each provider on our panel agrees confidentiality terms with us that cover blind quote requests.
How is trade data from a cost review handled?
It is sent through a secure upload after you accept a confidentiality undertaking, encrypted before it is stored, used only for your review and deleted afterwards.
- You can remove the fund's name, account numbers and counterparties before sending. We do not need them.
- Files are encrypted with AES-256 as soon as they arrive and stored outside the public website, with an integrity check that shows if a file has been altered.
- Only the people preparing your review can open the data.
- Trade data is never passed to a provider in a form that identifies your fund.
- Files and trade details are deleted within 90 days of receipt, or sooner if you ask.
- A signed non-disclosure agreement is available before you send anything.
Please do not send KYC documents, passports or bank statements. We never need them; your chosen provider collects what it needs directly from you. How we use personal details is set out in our privacy policy.
What is FundFX's regulatory role, and the provider's?
FundFX introduces funds to providers. The providers are the regulated firms that carry out the transactions, each under its own FCA authorisation.
FundFX is a trading name of Introvisory Ltd, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 948814). Introvisory Ltd's permissions cover arranging deals in shares, debentures and units for professional clients as corporate finance business. Introducing funds to FX and payment providers for spot currency and payments is not a regulated activity and is not covered by that authorisation.
Every provider we introduce is authorised by the FCA as a bank, payment institution, e-money institution or investment firm. We check its status on the FCA Register before any introduction and recheck it at least once a year. The provider is responsible for the services it provides to your fund, and its own terms, complaints process and regulatory protections apply to them. Full details are on our important information page.
Who do we contact if something goes wrong?
For a payment or a trade, contact the provider first, because it holds the money and can act. For anything about our service, contact us.
- A payment is late or stuck: call your named contact at the provider and ask for the payment reference and its status. Tell us too and we will help chase.
- Someone asks you to change bank details: stop, and call the person or firm on a number you already hold, not one in the message.
- You think you have paid a fraudster: call your bank and the provider immediately so they can try to stop or recall the payment, then report it. In England, Wales and Northern Ireland that is to Action Fraud, and in Scotland to Police Scotland.
- You are unhappy with FundFX: see our complaints page, or contact us.
